Dana F. Graichen, M.D.

Dr. Graichen was the first physician in York County to offer Macugen®, a breakthrough therapy for cases of macular degeneration that were previously untreatable with laser therapy. In 1994, Dr. Graichen joined Associated Eyecare and has brought state of the art treatments for macular degeneration and other retinal disorders to southern Maine and New Hampshire.

Dr. Graichen obtained his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Massachusetts in 1979 and his Doctorate of Medicine from Tufts University in 1983. From 1987 to 1990 Dr. Graichen was an Ophthalmology Resident at the USAF Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. In 1991, he completed a fellowship in Ophthalmic Pathology at Baylor College in Houston, Texas.

Dr. Graichen received an additional fellowship in Vitreoretinal Disease and Surgery at the University of Illinois in Chicago, Illinois in 1992. From 1992 to 1994, he was a staff vitreoretinal surgeon at the USAF Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas.

Dr. Graichen is Board Certified in Ophthalmology by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a member in good standing of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Maine Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons and the New England Ophthalmological Society.
