Progressive Lenses: Multifocal Vision

Over the age of 40, our eyes gradually lose the ability to focus up close. This is a natural part of the aging process called presbyopia. The best way to regain accurate and natural vision is with progressive lenses which eliminate the need for reading glasses or two separate pairs of glasses. Progressive lenses allow you to see clearly in all fields of vision: far away, mid-range and close up, with no hard divisions or lines between them. At Eyesight we offer Varilux lenses that let you move seamlessly from one field to the next with no uncomfortable head or eye movements.

Advantages of Progressive Lenses

  • Multifocal vision
  • Wider zones of clear vision
  • Better lens materials
  • More comfort
  • Compatibility with smaller frames

If you are researching progressive lenses for the first time or you are experimenting with trying them at an eye doctor you might require a little time to adapt. There may be some preliminary issues with peripheral vision and this will probably require some slight changes in horizontal head and eye movements.

Progressive Lens Adaptation

  • Cease using old eyewear as soon as possible.
  • Wear new glasses throughout the day.
  • Wear your new glasses high on the bridge of your nose
  • Move your head vertically until the object comes into focus.

Transitions Lenses

How Transitions® Lenses Work

If you wear regular clear lenses, the glare of the sun can cause you to squint and strain your eyes and make it difficult to see objects clearly in bright light. Through advanced technology, Transitions lenses give you the benefits of clear lenses indoors and at night, plus distinct advantages of sunglasses outdoors – all in the convenience of one lens.

Transitions lenses are clear indoors and at night but automatically adjust their level of tint to changing light conditions outdoors. They provide visual comfort and quality at any and every moment, helping you to see better today.

And just like sunblock protects your skin, Transitions lenses help preserve the health and wellness of your eyes for the future by blocking 100% of harmful UV rays, so you can see better tomorrow too.

Choosing a pair of sunglasses is more than just picking out a style that looks good

At Eyesight Optical, we know that choosing a pair of sunglasses is more than just picking out a style that looks good, it’s about functionality. Our certified team of opticians will take the time to learn about your lifestyle and need. Whether its sun protection, sports, durability, comfort or, if necessary, the correct prescription built in, the optical team at Eyesight will take the time to explain the benefits and functionality of our large selection of designer sunglasses.
