Qingjie Wang, M.D., PhD

Dr. Qingjie Wang is a fellowship-trained vitreoretinal specialist with an exceptional combined background in clinical medicine and scientific research. Originally from Beijing, China, Dr. Wang came to the United States to pursue a career in biomedical research after completing his undergraduate education. He earned his PhD in Neurobiology from Albany Medical College and subsequently obtained his Doctor of Medicine degree from Stony Brook University School of Medicine. He completed his ophthalmology residency training at Stony Brook University Hospital, followed by fellowship training in vitreoretinal surgery at the University of Rochester Medical Center, Flaum Eye Institute. His research interests include retinal degeneration, stem cell therapies, and iPSC modeling of ocular disease. He has published multiple peer-reviewed papers and presented his research at major international conferences worldwide.

As a fellowship-trained vitreoretinal surgeon, he specializes in the diagnosis, medical and surgical management of diseases affecting the retina and vitreous. His clinical expertise includes the management of age related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal vein occlusion, vitreous opacities, vitreous hemorrhage, retinal tear, retinal detachment, epiretinal membrane, and macular hole. He also performs advanced anterior and posterior segment surgeries, including the management of complex cataracts, dislocated intraocular lenses, and scleral-fixated intraocular lens implantation. Dr. Wang is committed to delivering personalized, evidence-based care to serve communities in New Hampshire and Maine.

Outside of clinical practice, Dr. Wang enjoys cooking, reading, and spending time outdoors with his wife and two young sons.
