Eyesight Ophthalmic Services is proud to welcome Dr. Jonah Goldblatt to the team. Dr. Goldblatt is now seeing patients at our Kittery and Somersworth offices, bringing fellowship-level training in cornea, cataract, and refractive surgery to the Seacoast region.

His arrival expands access to advanced, specialized eye care for patients and families who want highly trained surgical expertise close to home, without a long drive to a larger city for subspecialty treatment.

While Dr. Goldblatt sees patients in Kittery and Somersworth, he’s part of a much larger team. Eyesight Ophthalmic Services has offices throughout the Seacoast region, including Portsmouth and Exeter, NH, and Kittery and Sanford, ME, so patients can access our full range of specialists and services no matter which location is most convenient for them.

Dr. Goldblatt’s Specialized Areas of Care

Dr. Goldblatt specializes in cataract, corneal, and refractive surgery. He performs advanced cataract surgery with a range of lens options, including premium lenses that may help reduce a patient’s dependence on glasses. He also offers the revolutionary Light Adjustable Lens, the only lens that allows a patient’s vision to be customized after cataract surgery.

For patients with corneal disease, damage, or scarring, Dr. Goldblatt provides advanced treatments to restore the cornea’s clarity and improve vision. These include DMEK and DSEK, specialized procedures that replace only the damaged inner layer of the cornea rather than the entire cornea, as well as PTK, a laser treatment that gently smooths the corneal surface.

Dr. Goldblatt also offers several vision-correction options, including LASIK, PRK, and the EVO Visian ICL, an implantable lens for patients who may not be ideal candidates for laser vision correction.

Dr. Goldblatt also performs corneal cross-linking to strengthen and stabilize the cornea in patients with keratoconus. Eyesight Ophthalmic Services is proud to be the first practice in New Hampshire to offer Epioxa, an FDA-approved epithelium-on cross-linking treatment that allows the corneal surface to remain intact during the procedure.  Dr. Goldblatt performs this procedure out of Eyesight’s office in Portsmouth, NH.

With this comprehensive range of services, patients in Kittery and Somersworth can receive care from a fellowship-trained surgeon for routine cataract treatment, vision correction, and more complex corneal conditions.

Dr. Goldblatt’s Specialized Areas of Care

Dr. Goldblatt focuses on the cornea, which is the clear front surface of the eye, along with cataract and refractive surgery, and cataract surgery. He performs cataract surgery using modern lens technology, including premium intraocular lens options that can help appropriate patients reduce their dependence on glasses.

For those interested in fine-tuning their results, the Eyesight Ophthalmic Services also offers the Light Adjustable Lens, which allows vision to be customized after surgery.

For patients exploring vision correction, Dr. Goldblatt offers procedures such as LASIK, PRK, and the EVO Visian ICL, an implantable lens designed for patients who may not be ideal candidates for laser surgery.

With this breadth of services, patients in Kittery and Somersworth can now turn to a fellowship-trained surgeon for both everyday concerns and more complex needs.

How Eyesight Ophthalmic Services Approaches Care

Cataract surgery is a journey, and our team is here to guide you through every step. Before meeting with one of our eight cataract surgeons, you will receive personalized counseling to help you understand your lens options and determine which choices may best fit your lifestyle and vision goals. This allows you to have a more informed and meaningful conversation with your surgeon when developing your treatment plan. After your consultation, a surgical coordinator will review what to expect before and after surgery, answer your questions, and schedule your procedure at either a local hospital or our ophthalmology-specialized surgery center, Coastal Surgical Center. Our goal is to make the entire experience clear, comfortable, and never overwhelming.

Specialty Eye Care Close to Home

By practicing in Kittery and Somersworth, Dr. Goldblatt helps bring subspecialty care to patients who might otherwise travel much farther for it.

He is joining one of the largest medical and surgical eye care practices in the Seacoast region, with 12 ophthalmologists across multiple specialties along with a team of optometrists, surgical counselors, coordinators, and technicians. And no matter which Eyesight Ophthalmic Services location is closest to you, you’ll have access to that same coordinated, full-practice care.

Because our practice brings together subspecialties that include glaucoma, retina, oculoplastics, and dry eye treatment within one organization, a patient with more than one eye condition can receive coordinated care without navigating several disconnected offices.

We also work closely with more than 480 referring optometrists across the region, and we use advanced diagnostic imaging and testing for conditions that range from glaucoma and retinal disease to corneal disease and dry eye, which helps the doctors identify problems earlier and monitor changes over time.

When surgery is recommended, many procedures take place at Coastal Surgical Center, our own ophthalmic ambulatory surgery facility, which keeps the experience efficient and closely aligned with the surgeons and staff patients already know.
