
Dr. Qingjie Wang is a fellowship-trained vitreoretinal specialist with an exceptional combined background in clinical medicine and scientific research. He is currently completing a vitreoretinal fellowship at the University of Rochester’s Flaum Eye Institute and holds an unrestricted medical license in New York. He is board-eligible in ophthalmology, having passed his written boards in 2024.
Dr. Wang earned his MD from Stony Brook School of Medicine and his PhD in Neuropharmacology and Neuroscience from Albany Medical College, where he was recognized with the Dean’s Certificate for Excellence in Research. His extensive scientific career spans leading institutions including the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Neural Stem Cell Institute, and Stony Brook Hospital, with a research focus on retinal degeneration, stem cell therapies, and iPSC modeling of ocular disease. He has authored nine peer-reviewed publications in journals such as Cell Stem Cell, PNAS, and Nature Cell Biology, and has presented his research at major international conferences worldwide.
Dr. Wang is a bilingual clinician, fluent in both English and Mandarin, allowing him to provide exceptional care to a broad and diverse patient community.
